Final call
So the Cardinals are finished for the year. I know I am late getting on here saying that, been busy and stuff. Also finished not just for the season, but for good, is Busch Memorial Staduim. Always recognizable on TV with the Gateway Arch in the background and the stylish roof on top, it has run its course in baseball history, which is why this season was called "final call". I am just one fan, but it feels odd for my favorite team to call some other stadium home, especially since they have been there before I was born ('66 was the first year I believe). To say the Cardinals no longer play at Busch would be like saying the Cubs no longer play at Wrigley Field, or something similar. Just feels odd, wonder how it feels for those who actually work in the organization, both past and present. I guess sometimes in our own lives we have "final calls", times where we have to leave something behind for something new and unknown. Here's to final calls not being a stopping point, but being a point of wonderful new beginnings. Oh, and by the way, since I am a baseball nut I have a few bids up on eBay for some collectible Cardinal stuff that might make good Christmas presents for my parents.
