Ahoy, mates
So the first two nights of shows for the latest production at church went off without a hitch. The show was a pirate theme happening during our 2nd annual pumpkin patch, a spiritual twist on the "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies. Things went very well, and we had some good crowds and good responses to the show. I had a good amount of fun with it these last two days, I almost wish we had another showing tomorrow night, but we are all on break from it until Thursday. I built a wooden sword that I started to use for when we were practicing some fighting moves. I liked it, and it got some respect, so I have been using it for the actual play, but spray painted silver. I have dubbed it "The Eliminator", because about 3 other wooden swords have broken when they came up against it. Only minor gripe I have at the moment, or the one thing I would say went wrong, is that I discovered 2 small splinters in the bottom of my right foot tonight after I got home. I walk around the ship (scratch built ship large enough for the whole cast to get on the deck and it can easily be seen from the road) barefoot, since I do not possess boots or sandals. Small price to pay I suppose, I have hurt myself doing things that were more foolish and pointless, so I can live with a few splinters.
