Rest?

Why do they call restrooms, well, restrooms? I mean, its not like you can really rest there, no beds, couches, recliners,or even chairs to stop and rest on. Sure, there is the toilet, but I doubt anyone wants to sit on there for a rest. I think restrooms should be renamed to "relief rooms", if you think about it the new name makes more sense.
