Chapter 5: Lead, follow, or get out of the way.

Taka was cooking now, he approached the turn around point and with a downshift, a little bit of the e-brake, and some fancy steering he was now ready to go back through the course. There was no stopping him or slowing down, he made quick work of 2nd gear, rolled off 3rd in what seemed like no time at all, and then started to climb through 4th. With each passing second he was gaining on the Neon, and this was starting to annoy Tony. Has Taka was closing the gap Tony checked his rearview mirrors, and once again was in awe and disbelief that this little econo-box of a car could be catching him. "All right freak boy", Tony thought to himself, "You want to play then you better bring it." The two of them where nose to tail entering the S section for the last time, Tony in the lead and Taka right on his bumper. Tony thought for sure that he had the advantage at this point because he was built with better handling, but as he pushed himself through the S turns as quick as he could he saw that Taka hung right with him. "What is going on!?!?!" Tony yelled to himself, "This is an embarrassment, I will not lose to this pile of parts!" One straightaway left to go, then the curve, then the straightaway back into the crowd. Tony still had the lead, but Taka was dangerously close behind, then it happened. Taka floored it and pulled to the right, and slowly started to creep up even with Tony. Tony saw this and was immediately angered, and he vowed that he would not let up one bit. "If I can get through the last turn before he does, I can still win this". Last turn was quickly approaching, both cars side by side, neither one of them backing down.
