Inside my mind

Ever wonder?

I know at one point or another in our lives we are told to not be afraid of things like spiders. We get told that they are just as scared of us as we are of them. What if that was true? What if the next time we saw a spider or similar pest that we don't care for, it screamed and took off running? What if they do scream and we just can't hear it? Hmmmm.

Merry Christmas

And it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. This census first took place while Quirinius was governing Syria. So all went to be registered, everyone to his own city. Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child. So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger." And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!"

Merry Christmas!!

LIGHTS!!!!!

So, armed with the correct staples, lights that were working, and a ladder, I once again took up the task of decorating the eve of the house with lights. I have finally succeeded! I will add a picture here when I get around to it.

Lights, part duex

So after getting the lights all down for an examination, I found the problem. One bulb wasn't making full contact, so it was like it was not even there. The staples I bought were the wrong size, so back to the store today. 2 days in on this, and I am right back were I started from. They will go on the house tonight, I shall not be defeated.

Let ther be... uhh... light?

So yesterday evening I decided to try and make the house look a little more festive by stringing up some lights around the eve of the roof. How hard could it be? It was just two strands, totaling 800 little white lights. I tested them and they all worked, I had a ladder, a staple gun, and a lovely assistant. Once it was all in place, we plugged it in, and... one section of about 50 lights was out. Long story short, I need to cut my losses and just pull it all down and try again. Pure joy.

Tableware

First off, thank y'all for the kind words on our Christmas tree. I got to thinking this morning about a debate me and Wendy had before. The topic, of all things, was silverware. Which piece of silverware did we think was superior: the fork or the spoon? Of course there are pros and cons to each of them, all of them I will not list. What crossed my mind was that fact that no matter how good one of them is, it still lacks what the other one has. You couldn't properly enjoy a well made meal if you were stuck with the wrong utensil. Imagine eating soup with only a fork, or spaghetti with a spoon? These two utensils may be good on their own for certain meals, but when they are teamed up they can accomplish so much more together. I think the fork and the spoon are symbolic of a husband and wife. On their own they can each do good things, but teamed up together there is much they can accomplish, they are much more powerful and versatile as a team.
